News and Events...Waylande Gregory was an icon of the Art Deco era in America. His career spanned decades, creating the first monumental ceramic sculptures in modern times, and erasing the line between Ceramic and Fine Arts!
"Waylande Gregory, Art Deco Ceramics And The Atomic Impulse," is the first comprehensive and scholarly monograph on this artist whose career highlights include:
"Fountain of the Atom" at the 1939 World's Fair; "Light Dispelling Darkness," created for the WPA and still on view in Menlo Park, NJ; and, a vast array of ceramic sculptural works. The exhibition opened February, 2013 at University of Richmond, Lora Robbins Gallery; Cranbrook Art Academy Museum, October, 2013; and, will open at the Canton Museum in Ohio in April, 2014.
